The Gatehouse Manager will oversee the gatehouse operations 24/7 and is responsible for the overall management of the gatehouse personnel, including scheduling, training, performance, oversight and ensuring the efficient and professional operation of access control systems. The Gatehouse Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the gatehouse staff and the board of directors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities |
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Scheduling & Management
- Create, manage, and adjust weekly staff schedules to ensure full shift coverage.
- Monitor attendance, approve time-off requests, and manage call-offs to minimize disruptions.
- Coordinate coverage for holidays, weekends, and peak periods.
- Ensure all personnel are familiar with standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
- Conduct regular evaluations and performance assessments.
- Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits, incident logs, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all equipment and systems are functional and oversee maintenance needs as required.
Supervisory Responsibility |
- Operational Oversight
- Supervise daily operations of the gatehouse to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
- Monitor visitor access, vehicle logs, and security reporting for accuracy and compliance.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Leadership & Staff Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff concerns and escalated issues.
- Foster a professional, respectful, and motivated team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Supervisory experience

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and make sound decisions.
Physical Requirements / Working Environment |
- May require flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Indoor/outdoor work environment with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
- Requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
