Job Responsibilities
As Gatekeeping Staff, you will be the first point of contact for every homeowner, board member, resident, guest, and vendor. The Gatekeeper ensures the highest possible level of service is being offered to all incoming residents and guests.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Must be able to understand and react to emergency situations and operate electronic gate control systems.  
  • Provide exceptional service to all residents and guests 
  • Responsible for greeting and welcoming residents and guests and directing them to their destination if assistance is needed.  
  • Comply with all safety regulations 
  • Follow all policies and procedures established by association for the gate house 
  • Update Activity logs and incident reports.
  • Directing traffic when necessary.
  • Interacting with local law enforcement and responding to emergencies.

    Additional Responsibilities:  
  • Practice and adhere to FirstService Residential Global Service Standards.  
  • Always conduct business with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.  
  • Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules.  
  • Notify supervision of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies.  
 
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities
 
Education & Experience 
  • High school diploma or equivalency required 
  • Must possess strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook and general computer skills.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
 
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 
 
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
  • Work in an upright, standing, or sitting position for long periods of time 
  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property as required to meet the job functions 
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends based on gate staffing requirements 
  • Work in various weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, snow, etc.)  
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures 
  • Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time; be able to reach overhead; have full range of mobility in upper and lower body 
  • Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers. 
  • Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and be aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns. 
  • Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
